With more than 2,000 middle and high schools, Côte d'Ivoire was keen to introduce a student ID system to:
Student cards used to be printed directly by the individual schools, mostly on cardboard with few security elements.
The student ID cards are printed at the Ministry of National Education, Technical Education and Professional Training with Evolis personalization and printing systems. The cards include:
The cards are then laminated using the Evolis Primacy Lamination system and a hologram is added to ensure a high level of security.
More than 1.3 million highly secure student ID cards have been issued to public and private schools across Côte d'Ivoire every year since 2012.
The new centralized process has enabled the ministry to provide a better service to families, who now receive the student cards automatically and free of charge after their children have been registered. The card's security elements go a long way to prevent duplicate enrollments. The student ID cards are also used for large-scale exams and, if necessary, police checks.
"Now that this process has been introduced, we always manage to achieve our objectives. Thanks to the Evolis systems, we can now print cards quickly and with added security," explains Mr. Mamadou Fofana, Director of the Department of Strategies, Planning and Statistics of the Ministry of National Education, Technical Education and Professional Training of Côte d'Ivoire.
